BALL BEARINGS - LFD

LFD ball bearings in the standard range are available both as unsealed bearings as well as fitted with cover rings and seal rings.

They are manufactured with a metal sheet cage made of steel in riveted or lapped construction.

Optionally, polyamide or solid brass cages with glass fibre reinforcement are available.

In addition to the standard range of ball bearings, we also offer special bearings according to customer specification or we can implement optimisations based on your specific requirements.

Features of deep groove ball bearings:

  • absorption of axial and radial forces
  • suited for high speeds
  • not demountable
  • limited angular adjustability

STRUCTURE OF A DEEP GROOVE BALL BEARING

Description of deep groove ball bearing

The most widely known and best sold bearing in the world continues to be the single-row deep groove ball bearing. The areas of use of these bearings are very versatile; additionally, they have a very good price-performance ratio.

Deep groove ball bearings are designed to mainly transfer radial forces. As a result of the raceway geometry, the balls are guided very tightly in their track, as a result axial forces can be transferred in both directions.

Properties of ball bearings / deep groove ball bearings

  • Absorption of axial and radial forces
  • Suitable for high speeds
  • Cannot be dismantled
  • Limited angular adjustability

Cages

Our single-row deep groove ball bearings in the standard version have a metal sheet cage made of steel (additional cage variants are available on request).

Bearing clearance

Our single-row deep groove ball bearings in the standard version are delivered with normal bearing clearance (additional bearing clearance variants are available on request).

Tolerances

The tolerances of our single-row deep groove ball bearings in the standard version have a tolerance class of P0 (variants with tighter tolerances are available on request).

Angle adjustment

The compensation of the misalignment with deep groove ball bearings is very limited. For this reason, the bearing seats must align very well both in the housing as well as on the shaft. Misalignments impair the optimal running of the ball in the bearing track and this can lead to the premature failure of the bearing.

Temperature range

Single-row deep groove ball bearings in the standard version by the LFD Group are suitable for temperatures ranging from -20 °C to +120 °C. Usage outside of the specified range should only be implemented following consultation with the engineers of the LFD Group.

EMQ variant

LFD has developed the EMQ design for special requirements and applications (e.g. electric motors). Thanks to an optimized design, special attention is given to noise features, among other things.

LFD has developed an EMQ variant for special requirements or applications (e.g. electric motors). Here, due to an optimized design, particular value has been placed on among others the noise properties.
